A New Kind of Liturgical Hanging
a new kind of liturgical textile designer working in clay,

doug and his studiomate, karen hoyt, discuss slicing up the hand like a loaf of bread.
consulting others
using the cross section of the hand that was made with each slice, doug traces the slice on a clear transparency. using an overhead projector he projects the traced shape onto the wall. the enlarged crosssection that is projected becomes a template for bending wire shapes. the shapes, all numbered will eventually be assembled to form a large hand which will be used in the sanctuary.
doug, we would live to see the hand completely assembled!!!!
